BIREL ART TRIUMPHS AT ECKC SEASON OPENER

Date: May 25, 2016 Location: Goodwood, ON Race: ECKC - Goodwood

With huge momentum from the Rotax US Open, FWT and SKUSA Pro Tour, Birel ART made a statement this weekend in Goodwood, Ontario for round 1 of the ECKC Championship.

“The market in Canada is slowly rebuilding, and we are happy to be part of this development.” comments Dominic Labrecque, president PSL karting. “We're gaining market share in every class, demonstrating the versatility of Birel ART's product line up. They've made an effort to diversify and put effort into the pyramid categories that will eventually make up large fields in the future years”.

And large class entries certainly was the topic of discussion as Mark Stehl lead the Briggs Masters field to victory on the Ricciardo Kart. Mark would back this up Sunday with a pole and win again. Kevin King would finish P2 on Saturday in a 40+ kart field.

Mini Max team driver, Thomas Nepveau, would go double duty on Saturday and Sunday taking a very deserving win both days. Thomas has been working very hard to be the best in this category and his efforts have certainly come forward.

In Junior Max, De Alba would work with his new team mates, Lucente and Sundaramoorthy, to eventually finish P3 Saturday and P2 Sunday. De Alba also participated at the Rotax FWT and gained some valuable experience for his 2016 season.

Rotax Senior team pilot, Gianfranco Mazzaferro has been an absolute rocket all season since switching to Birel ART / PSL Power. Qualifying and finishing P2 Saturday, Gianfranco would be taken out in corner 1 in Sundays final to finish P4.

DD2 drivers, Bizzotto and Kingsley, the team leaders of PSL's roster, would work to start the front row together, however Bizzotto would suffer bad luck at the start, but Kingsley would finish P1 Saturday and a P2 Sunday.

“Every event, we find ways to improve our program, not just with our engines and chassis, but with our driver development. Our drivers are leading every class at every race we enter, and we will continue with this progress for the remainder of the season”, Coy Arbour, Team Manager, PSL Karting.”
