PSL Karting, Nevoso and Kart Depot get 7 podium at the 1st Stars of Tormorrow Series

dimanche, mai 9 2004

Bearverun-USA. Last weekend, PSL Karting – one of the leading karting organizations in North America - and its two satellite teams, Nevoso Kart located in the New York state and Kart Depot based in Ontario, traveled to Pennsylvania to compete in Round 1 of the Stars of Tomorrow Series staged on Beaverun’s karting facility. The 15 drivers entered by the three CRG/Maxter teams finished 34 times in the top 10 out of 60 starts in the pre-finales and the finales.

The six CRG competitors entered in the ICC category - Rahal, Lacroix, Velez, Mansur, Givogue and Cadieux – all performed extremely well. Kevin Lacroix captured a stunning 4th place in Sunday’s finale while Graham Rahal took a well-deserved 5th pace in the pre-finale. Velez – who had to leave on Sunday morning - crossed the line of Saturday’s finale in 5th position. Mansur experienced some handling problems but managed to finish 11th in Sunday’s pre-finale. Tyler Givogue of Ontario captured 9th place in Saturday’s finale while Tom Cadieux crossed the line of the second pre-finale in 10th place on Sunday.

In the ICA category, Giumarra finished twice in second place in Saturday and Sunday’s finales. Quebec’s Toby Rinaldoni also performed well, taking 3rd place in the second finale. Chris Stage was unfortunately forced into a retirement due to mechanical problems.

Victoriaville, Quebec’s Jessy Labbé – PSL’s only driver entered in the 80cc shifter class – captured 4th place in Saturday’s pre-finale and Sunday’s finale.

Hartensveld - one of Nevoso Kart’s team drivers - also showed great potential in ICA Junior in this maiden Stars of Tomorrow competition held on the East coast. Hartensveld took second place in Saturday’s qualifying heat. Thorme, Lopez and Galarneau respectively finished 5th, 7th and 15th in the second finale of the weekend.

Finally, in the Cadet category, the very young Sergio Pena drove stunning races. He started by clinching the best time in the two qualifying heats before he went on to win the two pre-finales and the finale. The young man was simply unstoppable!
