BIG WIN FOR PSL DRIVER JESUS RIOS AT THE PAN-AMERICAN CHALLENGE

Monday, May 3 2010

Young Florida-based driver jumps into the Rotax Senior ranks, taking a win at the debut of the new Rotax Pan-American Challenge
Miami Beach fl, - Jesus Rios Jr. making the switch to the Rotax Max Senior class just 2 weeks ago, has made a big splash in the opening 2 events of his rookie year. The talented 15 year-old made his senior debut at the South Florida RMax Challenge, where he took back-to-back wins to start the next level of his career. This past weekend Rios Jr. took his CRG to the new Rotax Pan American Challenge held at the beautiful MSR Houston karting facility located just outside Houston, Texas. It was an eventful start to the first national event for Rios Jr., going head-to-head with some of the best Rotax Senior Max racers in the country including several Team USA members.

Racers were treated to great weather all weekend in north Texas as several parts of the mid west battled severe weather conditions. In Sunday’s racing action Rios Jr was able to keep his PSL Karting/CRG at the front of the field through warm-ups and used that momentum to grab pole position in timed qualifying. Rios Jr. would go onto win the pre-final by over seven seconds and showed a blistering pace through the session. That performance was followed by an amazing run that would see the rookie senior driver win the final by over 10 seconds giving him the clean sweep for day two action and put him on top of the points standings.
