The Maxter 125cc engines are well born!

Ugento, Italy – April 21, 2004 – Just a few weeks prior to the opening event of the European 125cc and Super ICC Championships held May 14 to 16 in Sarno-Naples in Italy, the new Maxter engines proved they were well born by capturing a superb second place in the finale of the third round of the Italian Open Masters held last weekend.
The hotly contested finale turned into a major challenge for the Maxter-powered CRG factory team. The team’s number one driver, Italian Alessandro Manetti, took the lead in the early laps and traded first place on numerous occasions with Francesco Laudato. Meanwhile, CRG-Maxter’s second driver Francesco Principe sliced through the field after having started well down the grid in 24th place. Principe had trouble in qualifying but drove an inspired race to finish in 16th position. “Right from the start, I had to deal with traffic before I could catch the leading pack. But when I was stepping on the throttle, the Maxter engine delivered the power I needed to make progress,” said Principe.
The tremendous lap times set by Manetti during the race proved that the CRG chassis and the Maxter engine were perfectly set up. Manetti captured the fastest lap of the finale with a time of 55.143 while Laudato, who eventually won the race, could only manage a best lap of 55.273. “Despite finishing in second place, I am very happy with the work accomplished by CRG and Maxter. They provided me with a machine that could win the race. The Maxter engine performed faultlessly despite the hard punishment I gave it. We can say thank you to Boscolo who designed the Maxter engine,” Manetti declared after the podium ceremonies.
Working in close relationship with Maxter, PSL Karting is confident to perform well in the opening races of the North American karting championships, including the first round of the Stars of Tomorrow series that will be held in Beaverun.
