Dominance of Jonathan Thonon in the 2006 CIK-FIA Super-ICC World Cup!



The great victory obtained by Jonathan Thonon on a C.R.G.-Maxter was unfortunately followed by a shocking penalty of 10 seconds due to a jump-start, according to a rule which is also used in F1, specifying that once the driver reaches the starting position he cannot make any type of movement including any involuntary gestures. It is to be clearly noted that this kind of behaviour must not be mistaken for advance starting, which on the contrary involves a voluntary gesture made by the driver in an attempt to gain an advantage on his competitors. This was clearly not the case as Thonon during the starting phase moved from the first to the fourth position, before starting his incredible race recovery.



Jonathan was rightfully awarded the podium winner spot, but the great joy of the driver and the whole C.R.G. team unfortunately came to an unbelievable halt only one hour after the termination of the race by an announcement made by the sporting commissioners informing the crowd of the newly revised ranking made only after the acknowledgment of the claim which the penalty originated from.



C.R.G. today has put in an appeal, so now the classification is sub-judie waiting for the final verdict. Besides the stunning performance of Thonon, who also made set the fastest lap time, there were further impressive results of the other Maxter drivers, who obtained the 3rd, 4th and 8th best timings confirming Maxter's dominance throughout the field during the entire weekend.

 

ICC and Junior European Championship: great performances for Ken Alleman and Felice Tiene.



The races that have been disputed on Sunday have testified also the great performances of Ken Alleman and Felice Tiene. The fisrt one, on C.R.G.-Maxter, has obtained a wonderful second place in the final classification of the ICC European Championship and Tiene classified third in the final race of the Junior European Championship. A big thanks from the entire C.R.G. team for yet another confirmation of CRG's winning tradition!!
